The sims 3 wont start?

ok now i just downloaded the sims 3 from amazon on my windows 7 laptop that meets all the requirements then i opened it and played then later i closed it . i clicked the icon on the taskbar and it started flashing like it does when it opens then it stops flashing and doesn't open. it did this every time i clicked on it help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry for some bad grammar
